A few weeks ago, I met miss Jessie for a coffee so that we could discuss her upcoming wedding. She’s hilarious, plain and simple. Seriously, the best thing about starting a career in photography has been all of the great people I get to meet that I may have never crossed paths with. I’m an introvert, and I’m very unlikely to strike up a conversation with a stranger. I love people, I love talking to them, I love hearing their stories, but I’m also awkward and nervous and constantly afraid I’ll say the wrong thing. The fact that I get to meet people like Jessie and Cody, well… just… I’m super lucky to get to do what I do.
When talking about their engagement shoot, Jessie mentioned a few potential shoot locations that she liked. Multiple times, she mentioned greenery. I got the idea she wanted somewhere lush and vibrant. Can I tell you a secret? I love to shoot outside, but I try to avoid green greens! I don’t know why, exactly, but I always change the hues of greens to border more closely to yellow. I’m drawn to the orange and yellow shades of fall. So I was kind of excited that Jessie wanted lush greens. I’m always up for something different! You don’t make a song by hitting the same note over and over again… or something like that.
Anyway, Jessie and Cody were so great. They were cracking me up our entire shoot, and I loved getting a tiny peak into their relationship. I absolutely can’t wait to shoot their wedding. I know it’s going to be amazing, just like them :).
