I love when couples want to do something fun and out of the box for their engagement session. My favorite fun engagement session idea for Summertime engagement photos is getting in the water! It’s the perfect way to beat the heat and have fun while also getting pretty images, especially after spending about an hour OUT of the water posing.

Kenly and Jacob opted to finish their McKinney Falls engagement session in the water, with the waterfall behind them, and I just love the way the photos turned out! They were such a fun couple to work with, I’m so in love with being a wedding photographer. They also had their young daughter in for part of the session and she was SO SQUISH AND CUTE.

McKinney Falls is one of my favorite Austin engagement session locations. The rocky surface (I believe it used to be a volcano!) is bright and really makes colors pop. There are a couple of really photogenic cliffs, and of course, what gives McKinney Falls it’s name…. a cute waterfall! It’s a great spot for your engagement session, or just to hang out for the day (or camp!).
