Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a charming engagement session at this breathtaking venue. I love the picturesque scenery and serene atmosphere at The Videre Estate. It is one of my favorite new venues. This session was my first visit to The Videre in 2024, and it did not disappoint. From playful moments to romantic hilltop views, we had a ton of fun. I previously shot a wedding and two sessions at The Videre when it opened in 2023.

Simple Yet Stunning

We kept this engagement session simple. We focused on the couple and the beautiful scenery, allowing the natural beauty of the Videre Estate to shine. There were no elaborate props or complicated setups—just the couple, the venue, and the love they share. I had so much fun exploring the beautiful spaces with them. The simplicity of the session also allowed us to move freely around the estate, capturing a variety of stunning locations without any limitations.

The Magic of Overcast Days

Some may view overcast days as a challenge for photography. However, I actually think it’s a blessing in disguise. The soft, diffused light of an overcast sky eliminates harsh shadows and provides a flattering, even illumination for portraits. Interestingly, overcast weather allows us to shoot in multiple locations without worrying about the position of the sun. The result was a collection of beautifully lit photographs that showcased the couple’s love in the best possible light. I love the variety that we can achieve on an overcast day.

The Beauty of Videre Estate

Nestled amidst rolling hills and lush greenery, The Videre Estate offers a variety of stunning backdrops for any photo session. The estate features a picturesque lake, charming gardens, and expansive fields of wildflowers. I have absolutely loved seeing this venue come to life! During our session, the hilltop overlooking the venue was adorned with vibrant purple wildflowers, creating a magical setting. The overcast sky added a soft, diffused light that enhanced the natural beauty of the surroundings. This setting allowed us to capture intimate moments without the constraints of harsh sunlight, making every shot look effortlessly beautiful.

Looking Forward to the Wedding

Given that their wedding will be planned by the talented Married by Mary Anna, I have no doubt that it will be a spectacular event. I have been very happy working with Mary Anna on their wedding! The winter wedding is set to take place at The Videre Estate. Obviously, I can’t wait to see it! I love this couple’s sweet and loving nature. Combined with the expertise of their wedding planner, I’m sure their big day will be filled with joy.
